Hello,
Everyone I just want to let you know how much I have enjoyed getting your emails and letters. Things are starting to pick up here and so I haven't had too much time for letters. Please be patient with me and for always sending me letters and emails even when I don't get anything out to you. You all mean so much to me and I love you all to pieces and I am so grateful for all the love and support that you have all shown for me.
This week has been better. Things with my companion are starting to get a little better. I have been praying everyday still for the strength to overcome the differences. The more I try to serve her and worry less about me, I can see that my relationship with her is getting better. I still have lots to work on to be able to help out companionship.
So we still aren't doing a lot of teaching. We have been doing a lot of finding and visiting with the less actives in the ward and getting to know the members. We need to build the trust in the ward before the members will give us referrals. It can be frustrating at times when we aren't teaching anyone, but I am staying happy and working my hardest to find those that are prepared for them. We are starting to do a little more service work around here too which is good. We helped Alica, who is a investigator that we have been working with and we were able to help her out with some yard work and cleaning her pool. I love serving the people I am teaching and showing them that we are here to help them no matter what. We are going to be having a lesson with her tomorrow. I am so excited and can see many great things in store for her.
The beginning of last week we went on exchanges. I loved it. This was my first exchange since I have been out her. The sister that came and stayed with me was Sister Davidson. She is an awesome sister. She is from Texas and has been out for about a year now. She loves the mission field and gave me great advice on many things. I loved how in tune to the spirit she is and how she loves everyone. We got a long so great and I enjoyed my time with her. I hope that I will be able to be companions with her sometime during the mission.
We have had some great days this week and a random tour of the church. On Thursday we were waiting at the church for a YSA member that we had set an appointment with and in walks this kid asking where our front office was. We told him that we don't have a front office and asked him what he needed. He asked if he could park in the parking lot and not get a ticket. We told him that he could. We then introduced ourselves and then asked if he wanted a tour. He said yes, he was not interested at all, but he went through the tour with us and we were able to share our testimonies about the gospel and had a mini restoration lesson. We offered him a Book of Mormon, but he said no thank you. After he left we just stared at each other thinking of what just happened. Our member that we were waiting for came on the tour with us and we told her after wards that, that was not planned and thanked her for coming along with us. Even though he wasn't interested at all I felt the spirit so strong and knew that what we were telling him was the truth. Another funny thing that happened to us was on Friday when we were walking a police officer saw us and waited for us to cross the street and as we were crossing the street he started singing a hymn. It was so funny and made us laugh.
The weeks are getting better and better. I know that I would not be able to do this at all with out my Heavenly Father and with out Jesus Christ. I think everyday about what Christ did for each one of us. It means so much to me to know that they know me individually and know how to help me and know what I can handle. I always think about Christ and how he suffered and took off of our burdens and afflictions so that we when go through them and think that we are alone, that he knows exactly how I am feeling and that I can overcome them because of the wonderful sacrifice that he did for us. I love this gospel so much and I can't imagine myself anywhere else right now. I know that I am becoming a better person because of the great work and the great service that I am doing for the Lord. My testimony has grown so much and all I can think to do is share it to all of those that I love and that I come in contact with. I love the scriptures. I am starting to memorize the scriptures and to know where to find answers for the questions that people ask. I love taking the sacrament and renewing my baptismal convent's that I have made with my Father in Heaven. I love families and so glad that I am sealed to my family forever. I love showing the world the joy and happiness that I have from the gospel. My life has been so blessed and I am grateful for all that I have.
Thank you everyone for all that you do. I love and miss you all so very much, but time is flying by and I will be home before you know it. Lots of hugs from me. Love you all.
Love Sister Ackley
P.S: Here are some more pictures. Let me know if you don't get them. Here are is a picture of Sister Davidson and me, Elder Tovey, Elder Alisa, and me, a raccoon in our tree, and me holding a baby squirrel
