October 22

Hey Hey!

I love you all and will write back to you all next week!!

Alright so this week has been a great one. We picked up a new investigator and her name is Anglia. She is a 14 year old girl and has been coming to church with her cousins lately. We asked her if she would be interested in taking the missionary lessons and she told us that she was already Mormon  Sister Davidson and I looked at each other and said "Really? Well have you been baptized?" she then said "no, but I am planning on it." It was funny then we said that before she can get baptized she needs to take the lessons from us. She said okay and we have set up an appointment to teach her on Wednesday. We are so excited and it makes me so happy to see her so happy to be getting ready to be baptized. She is excited and we are going to pick a date and commit her to be baptized when we teach her on Wednesday. She is a fun and out going girl and has a lot of energy. We also invited her to come out to our sports night that we do on Thursdays (its a great way to find people), but she wasn't able to come and was little bummed out about that. She is an amazing girl and I am excited to help her find that joy that she is seeking.

We had an appointment with Kristian this week with is aunt, but he never showed up. It was kind of discouraging, but we didn't let it get to us. We sent him a text though saying that we hope everything was going well. We didn't hear from him. He actually has been really hard to get hold of lately and he never answers our texts or phone calls. I hope that nothing is happening and that he will continue to want to learn more and to be baptized. He has so much going for him and I want this all to work out.

We also haven't been able to get a hold of Hugo and his family too. We have tried for about two weeks now and he says that he has been really busy, but really wants to meet with us and said that Tuesday would work out so hopefully we will be able to see him and his family and watch the conference session that he had recorded for all of us to watch. We did invited Gabby and her sisters to come to the sports night and Guess What? They came. We were so excited to see them there. I think their whole family is coming around and that they are all starting to become interested in the church. The other day we were talking with Erin his wife and she kept saying "We" and wanting us to come over and teach them. That was so exciting to hear her say "we are going to watch conference with you." I see great things for this family and know that they will be sealed together in the temple one day.

One Saturday we stopped by a former investigator, the Valentines who we kept seeing. Well we haven't been able to catch them at home for a while, but we keep seeing Bro Valentine and he always tells us to come on by. So we tried them again on Saturday we stopped by and sister valentine must have been in a bad mood because she opened the door and she started yelling at us and saying it was a bad time right now and that she has babies and then shut the door on us. I was shocked and it made me sad. We didn't even get a chance to say anything. This was so hard for me to experience because I saw great things for this little family. We might try them again next week, but I hope that she was just having a bad day and that they really do want to meet with us.

We also stopped for another former and her name is Jan. Her neighbors are members and have always sent the missionaries to her. She was so friendly and welcomed us right in. She was so cheerful and really enjoyed us coming over and wants us to come back. She knows our routine of when we come over. She said that she isn't very happy right now in her life and I want to help her find that great happiness that she is searching for. She really is an amazing lady and I am excited to go back and hopefully to teach.

Well this was the highlights of my week. I just want to end with my testimony and I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers and know exactly what we need. He knows us personally and wants us to be happy. I love the scriptures and have found so much peace reading and studying them. Everything that I read I know is the true word of God. I know that this is the only true church on the earth. My faith has been grown so much and I have been trying everyday to keep my faith strong and by doing this I can see the many tender mercies that the Lord has blessed me with. I know that when we do the right thing we will be blessed. I know that Heavenly Father is pleased with everything that I am doing and knows I am doing all that I can. I love being a missionary and sharing this gospel with everyone. I know that I am changing many lives of others and it makes me happy!

I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Love Sister Ackley
