October 7

Hello my dear family and friends,

I can't believe that it is SNOWING already. That is so crazy. It seems like winter wants to come early this year. Do you think that we will get a lot of snow again this year? I miss the snow and getting excited to be able to see the snow too. I am glad that you all have had wonderful weeks and to hear that you enjoyed conference. Mom, don't you worry that is the only time you will have to be alone while the boys and dad leave for priesthood. You and I will have do something fun the next time! I bet you liked the quiet though.

Conference was so great and I really enjoyed seeing and hearing from Adrian Ochoa. That surprised me and I told my companion in excitement that he was my neighbor. She thought that was cool. He did a very good job. I didn't really have a favorite because they were all so good. One talk did stick out to me though. That was the one from Ulisses Soares. I think he was a 70. He talked about how we can become meek and someways to do that is 1)improving day by day. Doing the best that you can and to help others improve with you. Also he talked about how we need to control our tempers and ask ourselves how do I react to people when something doesn't go my way? 2) Become humble. We are more teachable when we are humble. We can also feel our Heavenly Father's love for us. When we become humble we know that weaknesses aren't bad and that with the Lord's help He can make us stronger. This reminds me of the scripture in Alma 26:12 when it says that we are weak, but with the Lord's strength we can do all things. I love it and it is so true. I think a lot of times we forget that and when we are weak, Satan makes us feel that we can't do anything. This isn't true. We have a savior who died for us so that when we are weak and fall short we can be made strong. I have seen this so much while being a the mission. It truly is amazing to see my weaknesses turned into strengths.

I also liked the many talks that said "Look and Believe...Be not afraid, only believe." I just love conference and I feel so good and uplifted every time. I learn so much and I always want to become better as a person and a missionary. I know that this is the one and only true gospel and that the words that were spoken came from our Heavenly Father and they are to help each of us progress in the gospel, progress as a family, a progress personally. I know that the Holy Ghost is real and that He is there to always teach us and protect us. I know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves each of us and knows us personally. We are all so special to Him and wants nothing more than for us to be happy. I love the gospel so much and so grateful to be a member.

I love you all so much and I hope that you have a wonderful and eventful week. Big hugs from me.

Love, Sister Ackley
